Sweetface Ghostbusters Cake

This was a fun cake!  Young Mr. Major had a vision…  he wanted a Ghostbusters cake.  He goes by the moniker “M-Dog,” which is cool because the nickname given me by my brothers when I was growing up was “Nay-Dog.”  I can relate.  An interesting twist on this one was that M-Dog wanted his name written in fog.  Now that’s my kind of client!  I could see the direction he was heading and this was the outcome:

This was a yummy cake too:  chocolate fudge espresso cake with chocolate ganache filling and icing, covered in black dark chocolate rolled fondant.   I decorated the cake with marbled grey “fog” and red and white fondant beads at the border, with a little airbrushing to give it that “mist” effect.  On the top is a custom-cutout of the Ghostbusters icon and a marbled grey gumpaste plaque, with the birthday message and M-Dog’s name written in “fog” – airbrushed and outlined in food coloring.  The cake board is also covered in marbled fondant to give it that “fog” effect.

Love it!

peace, love & cake.
